2019 Color of the Year: Living Coral Flowers
Say so long to millennial pink. Another pink-tinted hue is set to take over in 2019—according to Pantone, at least. The Pantone Colour of the Year has become one of the most anticipated annual announcements in the floral industry. From last years UltraViolet to Living Coral, it is certainly a real switch!
Colour enhances and influences the way we experience life. Pantone announced this month that Living Coral, a bright coral shade is the 2019 Color of the Year. Although it may seem pinker in nature, Pantone describes Living Coral as “an animated, life-affirming shade of orange, with golden undertones.”
Pantone cited Living Coral as a colour of carefree happiness. A press release says it “symbolises our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits”—a feeling that, perhaps, people might be craving in today’s landscape. It is a colour of warmth and welcoming, but versatile and life-affirming.
